Energy Load Calculations: We analyze your past energy consumption history, and calculate your Heating Load and Base Use consumption. Your “base use” amount represents the energy used for year-round activities such as water heating, cooking, clothes drying etc. -things which are separate from heating your house in winter. We then calculate your Normalized Annual Consumption for Heating (NAC/H) -normalize it to the average Heating Degree Days for your area, and then average it to the square footage to your house. The result is a measurement of the number of BTU’s per Heating Degree Days per Square Footage of floor area in your home. This number is further adjusted to reflect the average Temperature you heat your house. The result is a number we can accurately use to compare your house to other houses, and to new houses being built today. |
